The Community Service Sector provides support to sustain and nurture the functioning of individuals, families and groups, to maximise their potential and to enhance community wellbeing. A workforce shortage is gripping the Sector and it is society's most vulnerable, such as Participants in the NDIS, who are suffering. Low wages, lack of career development opportunities and disillusionment with employers are key factors. Sole Trader/Micro sized Providers are growing and in demand, however, barriers such as starting, operating and growing as a provider without incurring significant costs are affecting this.
