Our Odyssey

Making video games accessible to all with a joystick overlay and software platform that enables play through mouse movement or eye gaze.
The problem I am attempting to solve is the widespread inaccessibility of video games, especially for people with low to no movement or dexterity. A majority of video game developers do not have the resources to add the level of accessibility that I, and many others, would need in order to play. In addition, many existing accessibility software and hardware is not maintained properly, costs between $100 and $1,000, and usually requires insurance to be able to afford it.
My solution is an accessibility joystick overlay and software platform called Overjoyed that allows you to play a majority of Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, or PC game with only mouse movement and clicks or eye gaze. It is a 3-part deadzone circle (where no buttons are pressed) surrounded by 8 quadrants representing the cardinal compass directions.
