Is democratizing high-quality assistive products and putting them within reach of unserved people, starting with the 70 million people who need but do not have a wheelchair or the mobility, health, inclusion, and dignity that an appropriate wheelchair can provide.
Following the SDG’s mandate that ‘none are left behind’, Participant Assistive Products is democratizing high quality assistive products and putting them within reach of unserved people, starting with the 70 million people who need but do not have a wheelchair or the mobility, health, inclusion, and dignity that an appropriate wheelchair can provide.
From the founder’s 50 years of collected experience with wheelchairs in Less Resourced Settings, we have developed an innovation stack to address a complex problem: 1) user centered product design for durability, low cost, and fast provision, 2) tiered pricing so that profits from premium markets support ongoing product development and expanding distribution, 3) ecommerce and chatbot product support, 4) a Benefit Corporation structure, and 5) production localization to achieve a circular product lifecycle and local employment for people with disabilities.
