The Problem

RehabExo™ aims to provide affordable, lightweight, yet highly functional rehabilitative products that bring independence and big smiles to the users and their families. It is our dream to see every individual with paralysis, especially children with cerebral palsy (CP), be able to walk and play with others with joy.

The Solution

RehabExo™ offers a rehabilitative and assistive device made of soft materials in combination with soft robotic technology and a tendon-driven mechanism to make the lower limb exosuit lighter and more comfortable. Moreover, RehabExo™ utilizes the design of a superhero's suit to increase motivation for using the robot. In addition, the idea that the suit gives them superpowers will motivate them to work harder during their rehabilitation training. Balance control is the most important factor in the exosuit in terms of safety, and RehabExo™ is aiming to utilize a machine learning algorithm to provide a reliable controlling system for the exosuit. Additional sensors, such as inertial measurement units and force sensors, will also be used to maintain the balance of users. In addition, functional electrical stimulation (FES) combined with exosuits will increase the muscle activity and functionality of the user.
