The Problem

Up till now beach wheelchairs have been expensive and only suit a few users. When we started making basic ones the question we were asked frequently was can it have postural supports which we then integrated. Since then we have developed the product along with water stabilizers and even self-propellable wheels even a light weight lifting seat- something that no-one worldwide has been able to do. However we closed the company effectively for 3 years due to our daughters medical condition becoming worse, became full time carers till her passing and now are trying to give children and adults the ability to be able to partake on normal things that they frequently are unable to do due to special medical needs and the associated costs.

The Solution

The NDIS allows for purchases under $1500 and does not require written reports, they can be in many cases plan manager or self-approved. The Getabout Buggy is designed as modular with all parts coming in under the $1500 price that requires a report and we frequently work with OT's and Specialists to ensure the correct parts are used. Manufacture and design is kept local in Brisbane and the Gold Coast to allow complete control and distribution is Aus Wide. Due to its design and manufacture it could be duplicated easily from the engineering files that allow easy CNC production in many different locals, Europe, US etc. Due to its modular nature it allows the buggy to be created from 'packs' which can then be self/OT assembled to match the clients needs.
