Virtetic is empowering the prosthetics community through virtual reality.
Over 57 million people around the world live with a major limb amputation with a further 1 million people undergoing such amputations every year. It takes four to six months post-amputation for people to receive a prosthesis. During this period they have limited rehabilitation and training opportunities, leading to long term issues such as overuse syndrome and phantom limb pain.
At Virtetic, we are developing game-based virtual reality therapeutics (VRx) to support the rehabilitation and prosthesis use training of people living with limb loss. Our VR therapies allow people to start their rehabilitation within a month after limb loss. Ultimately allowing people to take advantage of their prosthesis from day one.
