ABOUT PRESENTER

Jay Davey, MSE, BE, is a mechatronics and robotics engineer with expertise in mobile robots, reconfigurable systems, and modular automation. He has led projects across agriculture, warehouse robotics, biotech, and now accessibility technology.

As Principle Mechatronic Engineer at Robust AI, Jay pioneered the collaborative autonomous robot Carter Pro, inventing a patented holonomic drivetrain and force-sensitive control system. At Zymergen (now Ginkgo Bioworks), he designed modular Reconfigurable Automation Carts (RACs), earning international recognition with the 2024 International Design Award and Good Design: Medical Award. At Strateos (formerly Transcriptic), he streamlined robotic workflows through mechanical innovation, advancing high-throughput automation. His research includes modular robotics platforms such as SMORES-EP and CK-Bot, blending academic insight with practical engineering.

Passionate about building flexible, human-centered robotic systems, Jay continues to push the boundaries of what robots can achieve across industries.
