Announcing our partnership with Toyota Motor Corporate Australia

Earlier this year, we announced our newest partnership with Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, a collaboration that underscores our shared commitment to "Mobility for All".

This partnership kicked off with a two-day workshop at Toyota’s Australian base in Melbourne, where a talented team of Toyota engineers collaborated with our Remarkable founders and researchers. The goal? To brainstorm and develop innovative assistive technology solutions.

What Does The Partnership Include?

Toyota Australia has generously supported Remarkable with both funding and 839 in-kind hours from their Product Design team. As part of our global Design-athon competition and our Launcher program select founders had the opportunity to receive mentorship, development assistance, and prototyping support from Toyota’s design experts at the Toyota Product Design Centre in Altona.

Our collaboration also extends into groundbreaking research, including a fascinating project with the Cerebral Palsy Research Institute. This initiative, involving PhD engineering students, a Toyota Australia engineer, and a cutting-edge 'soft robotic exoskeleton,' showcases the power of cross-disciplinary innovation.

A Commitment to Community and Innovation

This partnership, a key component of the Toyota Community Trust, transcends financial support. It represents a deep knowledge-sharing endeavour aimed at driving real change. With a commitment of up to 2000 hours of design and engineering expertise, we are set to accelerate the development of groundbreaking technologies.

"We're excited about this unique partnership with Toyota, which brings together some of Australia’s top engineers and designers with innovative startup founders. Together, we're shaping hardware solutions that can profoundly impact the lives of people with disabilities. This collaboration is not just about technology; it's about combining industry excellence with real-world experience, ensuring that the end user—people with disabilities—are at the heart of everything we create." said Pete Horsley, Founder of Remarkable.

Looking To The Future

This collaboration between Remarkable and Toyota is just the beginning. With Toyota by our side, we are poised to redefine what's possible, making technology more accessible, inclusive, and equitable for all.
