Are you working on a mobility-focused hardware tech solution that positively impacts people with disability?

The Toyota Tech Immersion is a two-day, in-person experience designed to fast-track the development of mobility-focused hardware innovations. Hosted at Toyota’s Centre of Excellence in Melbourne, this unique opportunity offers direct support from Toyota’s world-class engineers and designers to help advance your prototype or product.

Our next Toyota Tech Immersion takes place on 22–23 September 2025.

We’re seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) now!

What to Expect

Over two dynamic days, you’ll:

  • Tour Toyota’s advanced facilities
  • Join collaborative design and engineering sessions
  • Participate in facilitated “Kaizen” workshops
  • Work directly with Toyota experts to improve your solution

What’s Included?

  • Accommodation provided
  • Travel bursaries available for both international and domestic flights
  • Meals covered by Toyota during the immersion
  • Post-immersion support and ecosystem connections

Why Apply?

This isn’t just a workshop—it’s a launchpad.

If selected, you’ll:

  • Work side-by-side with Toyota’s expert engineers and designers.
  • Receive feedback and practical insights to fast-track your prototype or product
  • Connect with fellow inclusive innovators from around the world
  • Be considered for future Toyota Tech Immersions if this round isn’t a match

Who Should Apply?

We welcome applications from startups or researchers who:

  • Are developing mobility-focused hardware tech for people with disability
  • Have a prototype or product currently in development (not just an idea)
  • Are based anywhere in the world — international applications are encouraged

Applications are now open – join us on this exciting journey.

What You’ll Need To Share In Your EOI Submission

To help us understand your project and fit for the Toyota Tech Immersions, you’ll be asked to include:

  • What your solution is and who it helps
  • The problem you’re solving
  • What stage your startup or project is up to
  • Why this opportunity would support your progress
